- Acted for and successfully defended a multinational oil company in a gas flaring claim by the Niger-Delta Youth Movement for damages in the sum of N5 Trillion Naira.

Employment and Trade Disputes

Defamation (Libel) Litigation
- Acted for and obtained judgment in millions of Naira on behalf of a former Ministerial Appointee in a libel suit instituted against a newspaper publisher.
- Acting for a notable Nigerian Bank in a libel suit instituted against it.
Debt Recovery Litigation
We are currently representing various companies and financial institutions in the recovery of outstanding debts owed by both individual and corporate entities
- Acted for and obtained judgment on behalf of a top Nigerian Bank in an action filed by a customer (corporate organisation) which failed to liquidate the sums outstanding on overdraft facilities granted by the Bank.
- Acting for the owners of a large housing estate seeking to recover outstanding debts in respect of leases granted to third parties.
- Acting for a technology company in a suit for the recovery of unpaid capacity fees under a telecommunications capacity agreement.
- Acting for a Financial Institution to recover a debt in excess of N550Million Naira being the sum outstanding and overdue from a credit facility granted to an International Company and its Nigerian subsidiary.
Tax Litigation
We are currently advising and defending a number of clients in tax related suits instituted by the Federal Inland Revenue Service and the State Inland Revenue Service.
- Acted for and successfully defended a multinational oil company in a suit filed by a state’s Internal Revenue Service, demanding tax already being paid to the Federal Government, thus protecting the company from double taxation.
- Acting for a client in a suit filed by the state’s Internal Revenue Service, for failure to furnish tax remittance certificates and non-payment of Personal Income Tax.
